Solaris 20 — Dominique Somers & violet

Solaris 20 shows the result of a collaboration between artist Dominique Somers and artist run gallery Violet.

For the exhibition Solaris 20, violet determined the scenography, title, selection, and hanging of Dominique Somers’ works. Solaris 20, the name of a specific yellow paint color, became the main tone of the scenography and also the title of the presentation (a nod to Stanislaw Lem’s science fiction novel Solaris and Tarkovsky’s film, as well as to Dominique Somers’s fascination for light processes).

Solaris 20 is part of Liesbet Grupping’s artistic research, supported by the Flemish government and shown in chapters at Violet.
